IntroductionWhen an ever-changing society changes at such a rapid pace, it becomes quite difficult for companies like Federal Express, United Parcel Service, and United States Postal Service to keep up with the high demand. To keep up with such high demand in both volume and speed, Amazon recently introduced a new delivery method for its core members, drone delivery. These delivery drones bring a 21st century twist on the 20th century delivery method, they bring a wide variety of speed and efficiency to the table at the large scale of the delivery system, but like most technology they also feature of defects. Some of the major flaws that could be raised should be the ease of hacking, security concerns, and weight limitations. While there may be major flaws, there are still important benefits to drone delivery such as high-volume deliveries, speed and accuracy of delivery, and the ability to eliminate fuel consumption from delivery fleets. The Benefits of Using Drones in a Mass Market When thinking about a technological advancement involving drones, the mind usually wonders about the military aspect of drone surveillance and weaponization. This is not the case with Amazon's drones and the technology they bring with them. Over the previous five months, Amazon has unveiled a new delivery method for its Prime members. This method involves the use of GPS-controlled drones that have the ability to deliver packages and light items to the customer's home within 30 minutes (Mayerowitz, 2013).
