Their choice was between two men: Jesus and Barabbas. Ironically, both of their names represent the term Son of the Father. If you were to analyze the name Barabbas, you would find it to be true. BAR(means Son of) Abbas (Father). The difference between these two men was a matter of the heart. Barabbas was a murderer, a thief, and a constant nuisance. Jesus, on the other hand, was pure of heart, he loved and lived his days fulfilling what God had sent him to do. He was the spotless lamb needed for the sacrifice. So, without real knowledge of this fact; Jesus was chosen to be crucified. Up to that point he had fulfilled every prophecy. Cain and Abel both bore the name of their Father, Adam. Both men had to choose how to represent their lineage. You can be bound by curses or you can choose to serve God and overcome them.
