My proudest academic achievement, personally, was being accepted into the Burton Specialty Center's engineering program. My goal since fifth grade has been to get into the engineering program, and I am so happy and proud of myself for making the effort to be accepted. My mother first informed me about the Burton Specialty Center after attending a program at Virginia Tech called Kid Tech, a program for nine to twelve year olds, designed specifically for kids interested in science and engineering. I loved it so much and did it for two years. After my freshman year, my mother tried to find programs similar to Kids Tech and discovered Burton's Engineering program.
