The art in which a highly detailed realistic setting is invaded or interrupted by something unrealistic or strange to believe, is now called magical realism. It began as Magical Realism or Magischer Realismus, invented in the 1920s in Germany, in relation to the painting of the Weimar Republic which sought to capture the mystery of life behind superficial reality. Wonderful realism was introduced to Latin America in the 1940s as an expression of the mixture between magical and realistic views of life. This has been expressed in several literary works and in their art has become part of the culture. In the 1950s in relation to Latin American marvelous realism, magical realism was adopted as the new term used to refer to any work of art that has magical occurrences in realistic facts where the supernatural is not a simple or obvious matter , instead it is adopted as a common occurrence in daily life. The supernatural is accepted, interpreted and digested normally in literary realism. Magical realism is a literary genre in which magical elements are a normal part of a realistic setting. An example of magical realism can be when a character in the story continues to be alive beyond their normal lifespan, as they can continue to exist through a number of different generations. The story represents the character as a normal character and does not give him supernatural attributes, however this character will break the rules of our world. The author will provide some details to show the reader the use of magical realism.
