Do you have a minute? Great, because the skills I've learned over the last five weeks are immeasurable and I'd like to share them with you. I believe these skills are life changing, they were for me. I'm 49, yes, 49. I can't believe it either. I'm like many others. I've come to this point in my life and I'm wondering: what is my purpose in life? What do I want from my life? Where am I headed in life? You don't have time to waste. So start managing your life effectively, living a life full of purpose, stewardship and remember to fill your tank. The Biblical Foundation for Business Enterprise While business enterprise is the business of providing goods and services, many companies lose sight of or are unwilling to implement the aspect of divinity into their company's mission. It's a struggle and a balancing act for many senior executives. The conflict is high profits with the risk of ignoring biblical principles or low profits but greater peace of mind knowing that you and your company are doing the right thing. Some leaders are able to achieve both goals; high profits with peace of mind and doing the right thing, but not many.A biblical view of work and callingHow many of us go to our dream job every day? Even more so if we think and feel like we are doing our dream job; Does it coincide with God's call for us? As long as your work is legitimate, serve God by creating good. During the course, Principles of Self-Management in Business, I had difficulty relating my career as a setup engineer to God's work. As I fulfilled the reading and journaling requirements for this course, I realized how the my position at Haworth is doing God's work. I am serving external and internal customers, not to mention... half of paper... they are meeting the needs of others in a structured, timely and practical manner and achieving what they they set out to achieve. This description couldn't describe my personality better. I enjoy learning more about my personality type and the personality type of others. The information provided helps us understand each other, what motivates us and what the buttons are. To summarize my learning experience of the last five weeks, it is crucial to invest in yourself by taking care of yourself, others and the things around you. To do this you need to have the knowledge, skills and desire. You are not alone in this world. We're all in this together. We are here on earth to be good stewards. There is no “I” in the team. We have to row the boat and rowing the boat is proactive, interdependent, your circle of influence; it's starting with the end in mind, its synergy.
