Why it mattersThis research is important for uncovering key workplace facts that can guide how we set policies, conduct business and govern ourselves within organisations. In general, research is about discovery. In this research paper, I will discuss through analytical research methods the effects of cleanliness, happiness and satisfaction on workplace productivity. What theoretical area will you examine? Organizational behavior managers want to know the nature of their employees' attitudes toward their jobs and toward the organization as a whole. Work behaviors and attitudes of employees in organizations are a top priority in order to achieve individual and organizational goals through their performance. For my research I will consider three main constructs: cleanliness, happiness and satisfaction. Therefore this article investigates the relationship between cleanliness, happiness and satisfaction on employee productivity. What people are talking about When it comes to workplace cleanliness, we want to know the actual benefits employees get on construction sites. Cleaning work areas regularly helps prevent the buildup of dirt, grime and dust, but there are many other reasons why employees should be concerned about cleanliness in their workplaces (work.chron.com). The main topics of discussion are: infection control, injury prevention, professional reputation, legal compliance and employee satisfaction. It has been said that people tend to take more pride in their work in a clean work environment. Cleanliness of the workplace is very important for employee morale. Finally, Leblebici showed results according to which “interaction was perceived as the component that had the most positive effect on productivity, and distraction was perceived as the most negative one” (Demet Leblebici, 2012). The opposite of clean is dirty, and dirt is a distraction in the workplace. According to Jennifer Benton, Sophie Harvey and Simone Schnall, authors of With a Clean Conscious, “cleanliness reduces the severity of moral judgments and can be guided by intuitive processes, rather than deliberate reasoning”.”.
