IntroductionBusiness strategy is a broad topic that any business cannot afford not to address if success is to be ensured. The ways an organization puts in place to include the business strategy or as part of the business strategy also have a great contribution to the profitability of that organization. In this research paper, the student will focus on the Essex Fire Authority and the strategy the authority has adopted to be successful in providing services to the community. Business strategy requires taking into consideration corporate social responsibility, profitability, customer satisfaction, sustainability and the application of technology in service delivery. Corporate Social Responsibility It has been said that laws are not enough to help companies fulfill their social responsibilities. The main reason for this is that the legal system adopts most policies that fall into the "Thou shalt not" category without necessarily explaining what should actually be done. However, corporate social responsibility requires an organization to create structures that provide for the well-being of society. For example, in this case study, Essex Fire Authority designed its approach so that, since its inception, customers have always been at the heart of the operation. It has been argued that there are two commonly used approaches regarding corporate social responsibility. The first is an organization that treats all its customers fairly, such that all customers feel equally valued regardless of their social status.
