The Rise of EminemMarshall Mathers is one of the best rap artists and the most recognized artist in the world. His albums now sell over a million copies for every album he releases. In this article I will explain how he got to the top of the rap world, and the difficulties and hard work he put into rapping. Eminem grows up in Detroit, always moving wherever he gets beaten up and teased for being white in a black community. (Simon, Schuster, and Evan) When he was in seventh grade, he got into a fight with a child, was hit in the head, and was in a coma for 10 days. Eminem later wrote a song about the incident, and the boy who hit him tried to file a lawsuit against Eminem over the song. The song is called bully. It's a beautiful song about how he was picked on and harassed. Another incident that happened involving one of his songs was when he released the song my mother. It was a rap about her mother and her using drugs and Eminem talking about killing her. He was also blaming her for the way she is and also for having a lousy baby. There have been several incidents where Eminem's mother took him to court for the stupidest reasons trying to take his money. In all the times he took him to court he never won. (Salonee shah) In the film Marshall Bruce Mathers interviewed people who knew Eminem on a personal level. In the film one of Eminem's friends said that at one point he was dating Kim, his ex-girlfriend. He said they stayed at his house because of the argument Eminem and his mother had. He said that while they were there every night he could hear screaming and other noises. In the interview he said he looked down a bit and saw Kim pushing him and slapping him.... middle of the paper... and he wasn't afraid of Eminem. When he was thin and skittish he seemed to be afraid of many things, such as not being able to succeed or living life without drugs. Eminem changed the rap industry by becoming one of the best rap artists in the world. He surprised everyone with how his popularity increased so much. He proved that rap isn't just a hobby for black people. Even though Eminem attempted suicide, was addicted to drugs, and had a crappy home life, he is still hugely successful. Even though he made a lot of mistakes, I think people can still admire him. He's one of those people who strives to be the best and won't stop until they are. He started from being a white kid in the Detroit ghetto to being able to go anywhere he wanted and travel to most states in the country for concerts. He is truly a successful rap artist and has created something out of nothing.
