Policies are in place on campuses to make the environment, classrooms, and buildings safe and healthy. If people were allowed to walk around with a concealed weapon, the whole atmosphere would be turned upside down. Not only would it distract from lessons, but an article like "Why Our Campuses Are Safer Without Hidden Guns" written by Students For Gun-Free Schools states that "Bringing guns onto our campuses would inhibit dialogue by creating fear of possible retaliation."
