Or better yet, what would it be like to be the queen of this world? Queen Elizabeth discovered what it was like in the 1500s. Queen Elizabeth was a powerful and much loved queen. Elizabeth [born 7 September 1533 in Greenwich, England. Elizabeth was born to King Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn. When Elizabeth turned two, Anne Boleyn was beheaded] because of rumors that she had committed adultery. This left Elizabeth without a mother (Neale). Elizabeth grew up like most royal children. She had many tutors who taught her. He was very successful in English and music. Elizabeth loved music and knew how to play the lute. Elizabeth also enjoyed dancing and watching plays. The arts increased in his time. It was then that William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlow began their famous careers. Writers paid homage to her through literary form (Queen Elizabeth 1). Elizabeth [grew up in complex and sometimes difficult circumstances]. In 1547 Elizabeth's father, Henry VIII, died. Catherine Parr cared for Elizabeth. He hired tutors for Elizabeth. Arguments between Catherine and her husband, Thomas, forced Elizabeth to return to the Hatfield estate. [Elizabeth's relationship with Thomas has been scrutinized. Thomas was later put on trial for marrying Elizabeth for power. He was found guilty and later executed]. Henry VIII wanted a male to take the throne when he died. He paved the way for his son Edward.
