This documentary is directed by Michael Moore and highlights the dysfunctions of health care in the United States, provided by for-profit health maintenance organizations (HMOs), comparable to Free healthcare in countries like Canada, England and France. Interview patients and doctors in England about costs, quality and salaries. He also talks about how the government initially refused to pay for healthcare for the 9/11 volunteers, because they were not on the government payroll, making it difficult to have standard healthcare. In Cuba, access to healthcare is universal and costs around $251 per person, but in the United States, healthcare costs almost $7,000 per person. The only place in the United States that has excellent healthcare is the detainees at Guantánamo Bay, where there is 24-hour acute care, surgical procedures, everything related to healthcare can be done right there in the camp . The healthcare industry gave millions of dollars to the eleven elected officials largely credited with negotiating the bill to be signed into law, what a shame on them, this shows how selfish they are towards their citizens. Tears fall from my eyes like it's raining season. I can't help it or control my emotions because it's true but it's sad to know. What is democracy? Democracy is of the people, by the people and for the people. Why did I leave in a nation made up of me and not of us? I get goosebumps watching this documentary as a woman whose husband was denied a kidney operation that could have saved his life and others who needed medical care but were denied it. According to the Institute of Medicine, lack of health insurance causes the unnecessary deaths of approximately 18,000 Americans in the United States each year, but I thought... middle of paper... health insurance our senators, representatives and our president . How dare they have the best that we as their voters pay for and are cheated out of what we pay for to cover our families and deny the less fortunate insurance. It's time for all Americans to decide that it's time to get rid of our current legislators and vote for those who want what we want and prove ourselves to who they say they are. It's time to get rid of those who strangle our government for their own convenience. It is for the people and by the people. Not for those we elected to screw the American people. Our government has allowed these companies to invest heavily. They use threats of not providing them with any kind of incentive if they disapprove of this or that. Now our government will charge us if we don't have insurance. What if we don't have a job??
