Ignorance and prejudice walk hand in hand; those who ignore other life paths also prejudice them. Judging another person for who they are is a narrow approach to life. People in this world are all created differently and society doesn't seem to accept this fact. There is a great deal of controversy regarding the psychology of homosexual individuals. Whether or not these individuals are created this way is the greatest thing. Those who are also quick to judge are quick to get angry, which inhibits their understanding. Ignorant people's thoughts usually arise from inconclusive and unscientific data. It is quite obvious that no one has the power to determine who I am initially, whether mentally or physically. The human brain cannot be altered severely enough to make choices, such as sexuality. Numerous scientific researches exemplify that homosexuality is not a personal preference, but a predisposition. Homosexual individuals were born this way; there was no cognitive choice on their part. Homosexuality does not happen overnight, nor does a person simply wake up and decide they are gay. Scientists believe that homosexuality is a predisposition; one that can be found as early as the childhood developmental years of a male or female adolescent. Researchers say that same-sex differences become apparent first of all to the children with whom they associate most often in nurseries and schools. This psychiatric theory suggests that although children do not understand the precise meaning of homosexuality, they can still spot quirks, such as which toys they choose. This substantial psychiatric research demonstrates that children are homosexual from the beginning (Homosexuality 1). This…half of the document…does not include this research. Maybe one day everyone will realize that there are many predispositions in people, and homosexuality is one of them. Works Cited Boyd, Danah. “Bullying as a real drama”.
