Topic > War: The Inevitability of Society - 799

War has been an active part of civilization since the beginning of humanity. Sometimes war is used for more selfish reasons, sometimes to achieve a more “noble” goal. No matter the cause, human beings have always found a reason to go to war, but with a price as high as human life, why do human beings always resort to war? There are many ways to try to explain this, but the only way war does since is to protect more lives or the quality of life of more people who lose their lives on the battlefield. Because humans are prone to selfish behavior, they always want something that is not theirs and many times can lead people to think that the only way to maintain their quality of life is to take from others. Then when they invade to take what they think is theirs, the other party has to defend itself and its property, thus starting a conflict. War is inevitable because human nature is inherently selfish and there is no global authority to control the impulses of those seeking power. There are a few main reasons why war is inevitable, one of them is the inability to control the impulses of the selfish and the drive to take what is not theirs, another is that envy is a trait that is impossible to eliminate in some people and the The last thing that makes war inevitable is people's instinct to protect themselves and their property. The world at this time lacks a universal authority to control the selfish impulses of the greedy. All people sooner or later want something that is not theirs, but most people may deny these desires due to fear of punishment. There is nothing in the world that punishes theft, so what begins as one man's selfish ambitions could lead to a world war. The United Nations was built to act as the authority of... middle of paper... uel Kant. Emanuel Kant believed that if every citizen of the world contributed to justice, peace would be possible. The problem with this is that it is impossible to get everyone on the planet to support the same cause because; people have different perceptions of what justice is. Without a fixed rule of justice or universal law there is no way to enforce injustices in the world without war. In conclusion, with the constant conflicts the world faces, war is an eminent cost of trying to ensure peace. Unfortunately this appears to be a continuous cycle that the human race is destined to suffer. Endless war seems to be opposed by most but, as long as there are people who believe it is a way to secure what they want, it will always be the reality. Maybe in the future there will be a way to stop war, but for now it is an unavoidable horror of human society.
