Most of that red meat was a livestock product. I will replace red meat with chicken, pork or even vegetarian soy products. One concern I have with this project is that the impact I'm making won't be as visible if I give up buying plastic water bottles or cycling instead of driving. I'm still trying to think about how to put the impact into perspective. One thing I hope to achieve by eliminating red meat from my diet is to educate my friends and family about the benefits that eliminating red meat can bring. In addition to the extensive environmental benefits, it is also a great choice for your health. Red meat is high in cholesterol and is a contributing factor to obesity. While a burger or steak may be delicious, I personally believe it is a sacrifice worth making to help our planet and our hearts. While this may be a difficult task, filled with strange looks from friends when I tell them I can't enjoy that hearty steak, I believe it will be worth it. I can only hope that this is a step towards a more sustainable lifestyle. I hope to continue reducing my carbon footprint in the future, possibly eliminating all meat from my diet. I can't wait to see my progress and see the ultimate impact I have
