The Diary of Laura's Twin Estate: In the novel “The Diary of Laura's Twin by Kathy Kacer is about a girl named Laura who is celebrating her bat mitzvah and is assigned to do a project about a Holocaust child who never had the chance to have a bat mitzvah. Laura receives a diary from an old woman but she doesn't know that it is her diary from when she was a child. While reading he learns that the girl Sara is more or less his age and lives in the Warsaw ghetto during the Holocaust with his brother, sister, mother, father, grandfather, grandmother and his best friend Deena. While Laura is reading the book, in her life she goes on to create problems with her friends and other kids at her school by destroying tombstones. Characters: There are many characters in this book such as the two main ones Laura Wyman and Sara Gittler. They are both around 14 years old. Laura is the main card of the present time and Sara is the main card of the diary. They are both smart girls. Laura has a younger sister named Hinda and her two best friends Nix and Adam. Laura, her friends and her family all live in a small town. Sara also has a younger sister and brother named David and her best friend Denna. They all live in the Warsaw Ghetto.Narration:The narration in "The Diary of Laura's Twin" is in the third person because the story is not written by Laura or Sara and does not say I or mine.Setting:The novel is set in many places different places between the diary and real life. In the diary the main places are the apartment where Sara lives, the courtyard of the Warsaw ghetto. In the diary, Sara goes out to the regular town to get some food. In real life Laura goes to school, to her house, to the house of Mrs. Mandelcorn who is Sara and to the cemetery. Climax: The climax in “The diary of… medium of paper… field of tion. In both the story and the memoir the main characters are around 14 years old when they are placed in the ghetto and camp. Another similarity is that they both received a small portion of bread, food, soup and water and did not want to waste any of it. Furthermore, both left on cattle cars towards the concentration camps. Differences: Even in the short story "Laura's Twin Diary" by Kathy Kacer and the memoir "The Night" by Elie Wiesel there are many differences such as the narration, setting and general treatment. One difference is that in the book she doesn't go into detail about what happened after the transport because she hid the diary when she had to go, whereas in the memoir she goes into detail about what happened in the camps and on the train ride there. Another one is in the book and it doesn't talk about the harsh treatment and how they looked in the ghetto and the camps, but in the memoirs it does..
