Topic > A career as a product manager - 1523

Goal Find a product management job at a local company that can sponsor international students in 6 months. From now on, 3 months before graduation, I will start looking for a job, go to the job fair and send resumes on the internet. Transfer to H1B visa in 1 year. And become a product manager in 3-4 years. I chose this year's range because most recruiting and employment requirements for a product manager are 3 to 4 years of product management experience. Product Management I didn't know what to do the first time. Then I searched online for those jobs for MBA graduates, I found many jobs that they suggested to me. Such as software developer, cybersecurity analyst, finance director, management analyst, operations research analyst, interpreter and translator, and product manager. However I don't like accounting, analytics and consulting stuff. I'm an active person and I don't want to do things with numbers every day. After talking to the professor, Dr. Perez, he gave me some advice on what work could be considered product management. And I did some research on that work. It requires and the job duties are all that I think I'm suited for this type of job i.e. managing things and doing marketing. This is interesting to me. Furthermore, I am quite interested in products and want to work with products in daily life, which is not boring. So now I'm looking for a job suitable for product management position. What is a product manager? Product management is a strategic and business-oriented role, which focuses on meeting and delivering solutions to market needs. The role may consist of product development and marketing, which are different (but complementary) efforts, … middle of paper … wrong. So I have an advantage on that side. Some companies also just look for a higher education level and that is much more beneficial to me. Competitive advantage My advantage is my language proficiency. I can take full advantage of this ability to develop new marketing for the company. Nowadays, many companies aim to develop new marketing for new customers and earn money. China has a large number of citizens and very strong purchasing power. I speak fluent Mandarin and know the way Chinese people communicate, which is quite complex. And I have a master's degree which is better than bachelor's degree students at getting a job. The MBA program offers me more workable management techniques. However the weak point is that I am international student, that means I have to find a company that can sponsor H1B. And my oral English is not so good. But this can be put into practice.
