The topic I have decided to discuss in this research paper is about games and their impact on society by distracting people from everyday responsibilities. This topic is interesting because of the many concepts that this topic allows me to explore. I will explore different ethical dilemmas related to video games and how they affect people individually and society. Many people believe that video games can be related to the real-world violence we see every day. This topic really appeals to me because of the time I spend playing video games. Many people see playing video games as “nerdy,” but I see the benefits for people with physical or mental disorders in being able to interact with people without the pressure of feeling inadequate. However, violence in video games is on the rise and is becoming the norm to take over your life. Unfortunately, there are many ethical problems with games. This topic also interests me because I'm divided on how I feel about it. I see how video games can also negatively affect people. When people are so separated from real life and miss out on experiences to play games, it can really affect society.
