Topic > Reasons for Gun Control - 952

Some of the reasons for gun control are that it will help the government get a control over us. Hitler in World War II used arms control against the Jewish people to better control and recruit them. Historians have documented almost everything about it except what made it so easy to attack defenseless Jews without fear of resistance. Their weapons were registered and therefore easily confiscated. (Stephen Halbrook) If the government started registering guns and knew their locations left and right, they could overthrow us with a flick of the wrist. Imagine your local police coming to your house and exploiting your only good form of self-defense. Then you turn around and kidnap your children and teenagers, including yourself. I mean, this is what the Jews were facing during the Holocaust. So that's why people don't support gun control out of fear that the government will take over us and they will lose their guns. Additionally, some people use weapons to provide food for their family through hunting. Take away their guns, take away their ability to provide for their family. I believe the government has no right to take our guns to get us. But it's actually better when the government allows us to carry guns around in our daily lives. The 31 states that have "enact" laws allowing private citizens to carry concealed weapons have, on average, a 24 percent lower violent crime rate, a 19 percent lower murder rate, and a 39 percent lower robbery rate. % compared to states that ban concealed weapons. (David Lampo) In fact, the nine states with the lowest violent crime rates are all right-to-carry states. (David Lampo) Concealed handguns establish statewide self-authority rules that are in effect. Basically if you want to shoot me, I… paper middle… we were defeated and another country was coming to get us. We could use our weapons to fight back and possibly win. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." (Jonathan Masters) this statement states that we have a fair law requiring respectful citizens not to have firearms. Plus a well-trained army to protect us from foreign invaders. If the government took up arms, everything we have would be lost. We use firearms in the military every single day by all branches of the military. We just use them for the fun of shooting and target practice. We use them for hunting animals that we use for meat. We use them as jobs to provide for the ones we love, so go ahead and try to get our guns from the government, when so many people rely on guns every single day.
