I had the chance to interact with other international students other than those living in Germany. In our class there are some students who come from other countries such as the United States. This has allowed me to make friends from all over the world, expand my horizons and get to know different countries. Independence and Academic Growth While in Germany, I learned to make decisions without the help of my family. I was able to live independently and this allowed me to know what it feels like to live away from your family. The short time I lived without seeing my parents made me develop self-confidence. Studying at a foreign university exposed me to a new and different type of education system that I am not used to. The new research facilities I encountered in Germany improved my research skills.
