Topic > Inspiring Ted Talks for Youth

To prepare to begin my Marian Scholars research project, I watched three TED Talks given to audiences by kids my age who took the time and effort to research and present an idea about a topic they were passionate about. I first watched "A Promising Test for Pancreatic Cancer... From a Teen," in which a 15-year-old boy explains how he began research and development to detect pancreatic cancer in its early stages after having lost a family friend to illness. He told his story to the audience and explained each step of how he was able to bring his idea to life while learning about antibodies in biology class. I found his experience very informative and enlightening and he seemed very confident and ready to give his presentation. Say no to plagiarism. With the help of his friends, he has installed his invention in many homes in his community and was able to receive a scholarship to one of the most prestigious schools in Kenya, where he hopes to begin learning and training to become a pilot . . From this presentation I learned that it is important to remain determined and optimistic when pursuing ideas. The third and final TED Talk I watched was “The Magic Violin of an 11-Year-Old.” In her presentation, 11-year-old Sierra Huang examines the structure of vision and analyzes how technology and design combine to produce entertainment in the hands of a musician. In addition to explaining how the violin produces sound, she plays extraordinary pieces on the instrument accompanied by a pianist. I found that her passion for her art seemed to push my heart to want to know more about her story and dynamics. Please note: this is just an example. Get a custom paper from our expert writers now. I also need to prepare properly in advance for the practice and remain confident during the presentation.
