Well, it's the growing demand for services "right now" that we're all guilty of, and of course, money. It will cost much less to buy a machine that will most likely pay for itself within the first year, than to pay an hourly worker year after year for the same services. It makes sense, but it will also drive our society and economy towards imminent self-destruction. Frey (2013) specifies that at the rate we are going, 2 billion jobs will disappear by 2030. It is a very scary thought, but that is not the case. It's not far from the truth.
