Over the years, several researchers have suggested that adolescent brains are not yet fully developed. When it comes to this topic, Americans assume that if a teenager commits a crime he should not be held responsible because of his age. However, they must consider that adolescents are capable of understanding the situation they find themselves in, how they are viewed by young adults, and how they should learn from their mistakes. Over the years, more and more teenagers are being tried as adults for the crimes they have committed. dedicate onself. Are punishments really necessary or will they go to extremes? Take for example the case of Skylar Neese, who was murdered by two of her best friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. The girls are said to have lured Neese into the woods where they both stabbed Skylar Neese to death. The girls had kept the crime a secret from detectives for months until one of them finally relented and told them where they might find Neese's body. This horrible crime is absolutely not fair to the victim and her family. These girls had planned this crime so they received the sentence they deserved. Teenagers like Eddy and Shoaf know exactly what is right and what is wrong. If they are able to reflect and actually commit a crime, then they should be able to face the consequences of their actions. Teens should know from an early age what can influence them and how their actions can change their lives, for better or for the better. Without a doubt they should be punished for a crime they commit even if they are teenagers. But then again, some teens are fully aware of everything they do, including crimes like the ones they commit. As a result, they should be able to be punished for their illegal actions. It is immoral to do such a thing to a person who had something waiting for them in the future. They are young adults, it's not like when these individuals turn 18, they will automatically know what is right and what is wrong. Young people are capable of making strong and understandable decisions from a young age. All things considered, there should be no special treatment for young adults who commit crimes.
