A possible physical side effect is that you may become infertile. According to Abortionfacts.com, “Researchers have reported that 3 to 5 percent of aborted women inadvertently remain sterile due to latent morbidity from the operation. The risk of infertility is even greater for women who were infected with a venereal disease at the time of the abortion” (Abortion Facts). The second possible outcome is cervical damage. The research on emotional side effects is scandalous: “Studies conducted in the first few weeks after abortion found that between 40 and 60 percent of women surveyed report negative reactions. Within 8 weeks of the abortion, 55% expressed guilt, 44% complained of nervous disorders, 36% had sleep disturbances, 31% regretted their decision, and 11% were prescribed psychotropic drugs from the family doctor, up to 33 years. The percentage of women who have had an abortion develop an intense desire to become pregnant again to "make up" for the lost pregnancy, with 18% succeeding within a year of the abortion.
