When Chris Langan faced a difficult decision in college, he decided, "that was the point where I decided I could do without the higher education system" (Gladwell 94 ). Chris made a decision that not many people in America want to make or, for that matter, actually do. He runs the risk of jeopardizing his entire future by not earning a college degree and finding a job that he can support himself with. Chris also knows what's best for himself and that everyone is different. He does what's best for himself and others will see it. Hopefully, this type of situation helps others by influencing them to do the best only for themselves so that they feel like they have achieved the American Dream. Another situation people may encounter where they must make a life-changing decision is that of immigrants. At a young age, a “brilliant immigrant boy overcomes poverty and the Depression, fails to find work in stuffy downtown law firms, [and] makes it on his own through sheer effort and skill” (Gladwell 119). As it is, it's really difficult to adjust to a new life in a new country. People don't know what to expect when they immigrate to a different country, even despite what they've heard from others. This difficult decision to go somewhere completely new and start over is a decision that needs to be made and
