Waiting is mythology? Mythology is made up of twelve different Gods and Goddesses. It is composed of stories about Gods and Goddesses, but should not be read as some sort of Greek Bible, an account of Greek religion. Those twelve Gods and Goddesses ruled the universe. The leader of all gods and goddesses is Zeus. Zeus is the most powerful of all gods. He was the God of heaven and the Olympians. He overthrew his father and drew lots with his brothers Poseidon and Hades. Zeus is famous for relationships with other goddesses. His mood influences the weather, when he is angry he throws lightning at the world. He married Hera, but had many other lovers. The Roman name for Zeus is Jupiter. Hades is the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. He is the God of the underworld. He is the king of the dead; but don't confuse him with the God of Death, Thanatos. The Roman name for Hades is Pluto. He is known as the greedy God. He cares about getting more followers. He does not allow anyone to leave the underworld. He is also the God of wealth, thanks to his metals mined from the earth. He also has a helmet that makes him invisible. He himself barely leaves the underworld. Athena is the daughter of Zeus and Metis. She is the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, arts, industry, justice, and skill. She was Zeus' favorite daughter. Athena's mother, Metis, the goddess of wisdom, first wife of Zeus. Athena is the Greek goddess of reason, intelligent activity, the arts and literature. She is fierce and courageous in battle, but fights only to defend state and home from external enemies. She is the goddess of the city. He invented the bridle, which allowed man to tame horses, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship and the chariot. She was allowed… half paper… if you eat food from the underworld you can never leave theirs. So Zeus and Hades solved everything. Since Persephone ate six pomegranate seeds, she must stay in the underworld for six consecutive months every year. People say that's how winter was made, because when Persephone is gone, Demeter doesn't let anything grow. I have told you about five of the twelve Greek Gods and Goddesses. There is still so much to learn about all these Gods and Goddesses. You know, you know that Zeus was the ruler of all the gods and goddesses. That Hades was the god of the underworld and that he took Persephone from Demeter. You also know about the birth of Athena. I chose to write about Greek mythology because I really enjoy hearing about it. I hope you enjoyed listening to these stories. I highly encourage you to read more stories about Greek mythology.
