Stereotypes have most likely existed since the dawn of time and will continue to exist as long as people continue to make assumptions about others based on their race, gender, religious opinions, or social class. Everyone has been pushed since childhood to convert to the stereotypes present in their society. Perhaps this is not a negative reaction, since most people convert to stereotypes and social norms without even a word of protest. Most children will believe their parents or guardians when told that certain activities are harmful or inappropriate for their gender, and will continue to follow these established rules to be a "good child" and gain approval from their guardians, which will lead to the desire to have them. to obtain company approval. The problem with conformity, as with most subjects, is when people take it too far. Conformity becomes a destructive aspect of one's life when the norm of society tells people to rebuild their entire being, both mentally and physically. Cultural stereotypes are “widely known beliefs that largely influence how individuals are evaluated and treated” (Lun 117). Most stereotypes are fueled by the prejudices of people from other social groups and will change the facts into a new reality (Macionis 21). According to "Cultural Stereotypes And The Self: A Closer Examination Of Implicit Self-Stereotyping" people tend to unconsciously integrate stereotypes about themselves into their self-concept, although these are usually only positive stereotypes and not negative ones (117 ).
