I agree that you can read much more deeply when you have an actual paper copy of a novel than a short article on the internet. I agree that the Internet can be dangerous if used too often or for long periods of time. I agree that computers and the internet can partake in the “true human experience” when you simply believe the first thing you read on the internet without really breaking it down and looking for truth and validity. However, I personally don't believe that the Internet is harming society as harmfully as this article talks about. Yes, it can be abused and relied upon when it shouldn't be, but the advantages of the Internet far outweigh the disadvantages. The Internet allows us to have an abundant amount of information and resources at our disposal when we search for answers. Instead of having just one or two sources available in a library, we now have thousands of open avenues to find accurate information. We are able to find support for the information sought and reasons that demonstrate its legitimacy. Of course, not everything on the Internet is correct, so you need to take the time to do the research to make sure what you are reading is true.
