Nature vs. Nurture has been discussed in an attempt to understand how criminals behave. The theory of what influences the violent and destructive paths of psychopaths and serial killers has not been agreed upon to date. Criminals such as psychopaths and serial killers have been studied over the past two decades. Scientists have found that genetics is a determining factor in who becomes a serial killer. It is important to understand the determinants involved in a serial killer, because if these social and environmental causes are discovered, they can be modified and controlled to reduce crime (Lykken, 1993). With further studies, we could therefore prevent mass murders and could contribute to a significant reduction in crime within society. The education of individuals plays a role in the creation of killers, as 94% of serial killers experienced some form of abuse as children and 42% experienced severe physical abuse (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2010). Child abuse is a contributing factor, supporting the idea that serial killers and psychopaths are significantly influenced by education (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2011). In most cases, social, cultural, and physiological determinants all play a role in influencing serial killers to turn into mass murderers. It is important that physiological and social determinants can be identified, so that they can be modified in order to prevent the number of crimes. Over the past decade, a wide range of research and evidence based on both sides of nature or criminality has been available. fuel the debate. Along with further research identifying a number of determinants that have some form of influence on criminal behavior and activity. This research... at the center of the article... unity (Gregoriou, 2011). Furthermore, understanding the determinants that influence crime and the social theories surrounding this problem could allow public health experts to discover better methodologies for improving this public health problem. If we could better understand criminals and evaluate current procedures, it could be a significant problem to address, in order to reduce the prevalence of crime. Finding concrete evidence on this topic could be significant in reducing crime rates and addressing public health issues. . What I have learned from research-based evidence and analysis of social and cultural theories is that criminal behavior is multifaceted and is influenced by a variety of determinants where the nature versus nurture debate plays out. I believe that nature and nurture both play a significant role in the creation of a criminal.
