This gender bias in advertising says a lot about how companies are ready to change their marketing strategies to sell their products. However, in the case of food and beverages, distinct product categories are generally associated with distinct genres. Self-indulgent chocolates are more targeted towards females and big chunky hunger bars towards females. The key thing is attractiveness and marketers would rather do anything to add attractiveness to their products through advertising. It's just one step in the direction of using sex to create sales. Like color, flavor and size are now also used to target products to specific genders. A light drink is provided for girls and a strong drink for boys. No doubt the gender bias in the ad is just a reflection of how well marketers are leveraging gender to boost sales of their products
