Topic > Plan for Completing the Thesis - 528

The purpose of this discussion post is to describe my plan for completing the thesis, including my timetable for completion and celebration of a particular milestone. Plan I am a big procrastinator and the course video mentions the importance of sticking to a regular schedule to complete the thesis (Laureate Education, Inc., 2012). To help me with this, I plan to use Microsoft Outlook to schedule time in my daily schedule to work on my thesis and set tasks on what to work on it. I plan to work on my thesis for two to three hours Monday through Thursday and at least one hour Friday through Sunday. Syncing my Microsoft Outlook calendar with both my phone and iPad mini allows me to receive alerts when I'm on the go, reminding me to stop what I'm doing and pull out my laptop to work on my thesis. Microsoft Project will be used to place my thesis assignment in a Gantt chart as a visual aid. Since I am a procrastinator, I plan to use the strategies mentioned by Pannapacker (1999) to be a productive procrastinator, such as starting writing early; keep up to date on the topic of interest by reading magazine articles and websites; network by joining academic and professional societies and attending conferences; Keep my prospectus open enough to allow for any changes; make my thesis my priority by making time to write every day and setting manageable short-term deadlines. TimelineMiller (2003) mentions some tips to take into account when chronology helps complete my thesis, such as being realistic by setting deadlines that will not make me unhappy when they are not met, giving myself a break, and allowing time for revision. I will be starting my thesis on June 2nd and I have drafted the following...halfway through the paper...gives me a rough idea of the task I have to do and my journey to complete the thesis tation.Works CitedLaureate Education, Inc.
