Human trafficking and sex trafficking in Spain Imagine living your normal life and suddenly someone kidnaps you and ships you to another country to be involved in a ring of human trafficking. This happened to many people and they were shipped to Spain. In Spain, many people enter sex trafficking because they already have family members who are victims of trafficking. Many others are victims of trafficking because they have debts and need to repay the debt. Many traffickers get victims addicted to drugs and traffic them when they can no longer pay for the drugs. Many Spaniards still ignore human trafficking in Spain, believing that this inhumane act only happens in other countries. Many people still don't know what human trafficking is. Human trafficking is the illegal movement of human beings for the purpose of exploitation. Louise Shelley states: “With demand and uncoordinated enforcement efforts, human trade for labor and sex cannot be stopped.” You are right, human trafficking is forcibly moving humans to other locations for sexual and labor purposes. Most traffickers use people for sex trafficking. Martha Irvine calls human trafficking "...a victimless crime, viewing domestic prostitution as something very different from sex trafficking with its cross-border kidnappings and brutal coercion – a plague that has come to the forefront of the news in recent years". She says people often confuse sex trafficking with prostitution but, in sex trafficking, people are always moved and kidnapped. Victims are often beaten to obey the trafficker. The most basic form of human trafficking is sex trafficking. The profit from sex trafficking is "five million euros a day" (Benitez, Ines). Furthermore, "the majority of victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation in Spain... middle of paper... sucked into human beings often enter people already inside and begin their dangerous journey towards death. The victims go through long walks towards death and could die along the way must be stopped. Many people suffer abuse and this has an impact on society. Society in Spain is not very good because it is in second place in the European area they can ask for help because they don't speak the language and don't know it Authorities can't handle human trafficking very well Laws only classified human trafficking as illegal in December 2010. Sweatshops can spend up to 10 years. years in prison for human trafficking. They often let victims stay in the country until they are sure the victims can leave. Ultimately, human trafficking is evil and must be stopped.
