The main problem with this proposal that needs to be taken into account is that many critics argue that men are ignored by feminism and that the argument for non-custodial sentences is exceptionalism feminist at work (Reed, 2013). Many argue that the attempt to keep only women out of prison could be seen as sexist towards men and not as an issue of equality. However, it is important that equality is not understood in the sense of treating everyone the same, but in treating everyone in such a way that the outcome for both men and women can be the same (Corston, 2007). As a result, meeting everyone's individual needs and preventing them from living a life of
