What would your life be like if you were among millions of people without medical insurance? Right now, millions of families are not covered because they can't afford it. For many years, the United States has been one of the most important medical services around. They continue to grow and prosper with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. The purpose of this legislation is to ensure all American citizens have access to easy and affordable health insurance. The US policy of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 has a positive impact on the US because it is accessible to those who are uninsured, cannot turn away those who are already sick, and will not change operations just because the legislature states that the employer workplace must provide full coverage to those who have more than fifty full-time employees. The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obama Care, has a positive impact on the United States. Some people believe that it is a negative impact on the United States because the program will cut employee hours because companies that have more than fifty employees will have to pay the complete coverage for its employees. However, they are incorrect. No matter how many full-time employees they have, they will still have to pay for coverage for them. As Dr. Tran specified at the Student Network for Public Health Law discussion at Tulane University, he explains that "the requirement is based on calculations for a 30-hour work week, or 120 hours per month. All hours of all employees of a business are counted monthly and divided by 120 to determine the number of hours worked full-time.
