The television screens never turn off and are the only constant in Winston's life. “Winston had his back to the television screen. It was safer, however, as he well knew, even the back can be revealing. (Orwell 3) This quote shows that Winston lives in constant fear of being discovered by the party. It clearly highlights how party control it is and how impressive and powerful the telescreens are. A third mechanism used by Big Brother is the rewriting of real events. Winston works at the Ministry of Truth and it is his job to rewrite historical documents to make them agree with what the party said. Despite this, the work is very sloppy because people still have memories of real events in their minds that contrast with what is found in history books. If you can't convince everyone, it's not effective. Telescreens are clearly the most effective tactic used by Big Brother in 1984. They are everywhere, frightening citizens and capable of spouting propaganda to control how they think and act. . Don't you think this is the most effective? Get the little gadgets into the pockets of millions of people. It is probably capable of recording the owners' every move. It knows where you go, what you write, who you email, and who you call. The modern society of 1984 is approaching. Keep your eyes open
