With one of the most unique island experiences in the world, many tourists access Fraser Island. Tourism brings many benefits to the economy of this island, but it also poses some sustainability issues to the functioning of the island. This report will analyze the basic principles of sustainable tourism development and the economic, social and environmental impacts resulting from tourism development. The sustainability issue facing the operation will also be analysed. The issue of social, environmental and economic aspects will influence the development of Fraser Island in the future. There are few research methods that will be mentioned in this report. Government documents and some journal articles are the primary source of research. These include current issues affecting the island including social, environmental and economic factors; also the problem that the island will face in the future. As guest numbers have decreased and booking times have become shorter for those traveling to stay at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Meanwhile, Dune Lake on Fraser Island has been threatened by excessive tourist use. Rapidly growing tourism will affect the ecology of Dune Lake on Fraser Island. Furthermore, the dingo is part of the Fraser Island experience for tourists, if they see photos of the dingo on web pages and postcards they will be brought to their expectations. However, dingo attack has increased due to the number of tourists. The Kingfisher Bay Resort Group must promote ecotourism for tourists, this will help maintain Fraser Island as a sustainable tourist destination, the important thing is to control tourist access to the island and reorganize the policy. The local government must also promote ecotourism for all tourism operators.
