A statistic from the World Health Organization indicates that 60% of deaths are caused by chronic diseases. This is linked to the increase in well-being and sedentary lifestyle. If we continue to live this lifestyle, it will be easier for us to contract diseases. In this fast-paced lifestyle, we are always on the move. Usually we choose to eat a food without thinking much about the contents of the food but only thinking about filling our stomach. In addition to the food consumption factor, family history and environmental pollution are also the main causes of chronic diseases. However, there are some key chronic disease prevention measures we can take, such as practicing a healthy lifestyle, getting regular health checkups, and reducing the risk factor of chronic diseases. It seems that prevention steps are common, but not many people know that the above steps can help us stay healthy and reduce the risk of contracting diseases. Practicing a healthy lifestyle is the most important step to prevent chronic diseases, which means that step to be performed as a routine activity. For example, we must perform regular physical activity at least 25 minutes a day to ensure that our weight is in a balanced condition and that the chances of developing chronic diseases can decrease. However, physical activity is not just doing heavy exercises in the gym, but things like walking, cleaning, gardening are also considered exercises that can give us many benefits. Furthermore, to have a balanced diet, there are three steps that can be taken. First, we should eat a variety of foods from each level of the Food Pyramid to ensure we get all the nutrition for our bodies. So, plan and prepare healthy meals before taking it.
