“Is it always cheating to talk about your husband with another man? What about girlfriends or astrologers?" (Dormen). In modern society, people's feelings and desires are limited by the rules of law and morality, especially when they concern marriage and marital relationships. In The Storm, Kate Chopin raised a moral question of adultery between the characters in the short novel Calixta and Alcee discussed the questions based on the metaphor of the storm and the lack of passion in the marriage between Calixta and Bobinot. Similarly, in A Doll's House, Henrik Ibsen carefully examined the issue of a loveless marriage. It described the relationships between Nora and Torvald and showed how domineering attitude and misunderstandings ultimately ruined marital relationships. Both stories are linked by a common problem of secrets born of misunderstandings between spouses . They solved the problem of misunderstanding in different ways, depending on the cultural and personal distinctions of the characters. Therefore, the stories ended differently. Chopin concluded that the adulterous act brought short-term positive changes to the marriage depicted in The Tempest. In contrast, Ibsen concluded his play A Doll's House by stating that lack of understanding and communication led to the collapse of the marriage. In his short novel The Tempest, Chopin explained how an extramarital affair between Calixta and Alcee became a factor for the benefit of the marriage. Chopin concluded the story with the words: "Thus the storm passed and everyone was happy" (123). The story is interesting not only for the conclusion that infidelity had a short-term beneficial effect on family relationships, but also for the complexities that led to the happy ending. In the middle of the novel, Chopin uses...... half of the card......pt not revealed because of her naivety, passionate and pure love towards her husband, contained no vicious actions or intentions. However, after revealing the secret, the couple's true mutual attitude was discovered and Nora preferred to live alone to life with her husband who called her a criminal and decided to separate from her for a formal mistake that saved his love. , Joanna.
