Elizabeth Taylor's ability to function psychologically normally was probably taken away from her the first time she appeared on screen, at the ripe old age of ten. A normal childhood was taken away from her. By the age of 15, she had starred in 7 films and won the hearts of everyone in the United States with National Velvet. She became a child star. She was not the first actress in her family. Her mother had been a successful stage actress before marrying Elizabeth's father. She was born in England and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 7 years old. A family friend made a comment about Elizabeth going to an audition at Universal Studios. She was hired. She became a working girl before she even hit double digits. Her mother constantly coached her and encouraged her to look for projects. You could say she was obsessed with acting and pleasing all the adults in her life. While working on National Velvet, he dieted and exercised for four months. This occurred at the age of 11. While filming the project, she suffered a broken back after being thrown from a horse. She forced herself to finish the film despite her immense injury. When she became a young woman, she was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, even at such a young age. Elizabeth Taylor might be considered most infamous for her numerous marriages. She has been married 8 times, twice to the same man, Richard Burton. She first married Burton in 1964. They had an affair during and after the filming of Cleopatra. Before Taylor and Burton divorced their respective spouses and married, Taylor attempted suicide in 1962 due to entangled relationships. But this wasn't the first sign of reckless behavior in his life. Supposedly you have experienced... middle of paper... this type of treatment. There is nothing in his history to suggest biological problems. Cognitive or behavioral could have been taken into account, but considering his childhood, or lack thereof, I think he is a classic example of psychological abnormalities due to underlying issues that could date back to childhood. However, since she was a very famous and important movie star, there was a possibility that she would not be able to identify any problems in herself. If he had used the defense mechanism of rationalization, he would not have considered any of his actions to be wrong. Furthermore, because psychodynamic therapies can take a long time before results are visible, she could have become frustrated with the lack of results and stopped therapy. But I think if she had gone to therapy and been patient, it would have been very effective.
