First of all, the library provides book lending services to its customers. Today, the library fulfills many aspects of its educational and recreational role through lending services. Initially, the lending function of libraries was limited to books, since libraries' holdings consisted exclusively of books. For example, in the PTAR library it has been established that book lending is permitted to university students, doctoral students, research students and staff, distance learning students and teachers.
