Holding school board meetings helps you see what the school needs. This is very important because this may be the only time a parent or concerned person's voice may be heard. From this meeting it was learned that school board members are willing to help people who have concerns. An example of this was when the concerned preschool parent was concerned that he heard that the daycare was just a daycare. However, someone from the board told her that the next day she would personally go with the parent and show her how kindergarten is done during the day. This made the parent so happy because their concerns were being met. I learned that school board members care about students and that they are the number one source that community members should turn to if they have a concern or suggestion to improve their children's lives
