We are torn in 1,000 different directions and it all comes down to the question of who we are. There are three different options for this type of shaming. One is simply a negative rumor. I think this is the most common because many people believe they are too tall, fat, short, thin, etc. The interesting thing is that many words that can be put in place of negative words are also positive characteristics. For example: “I'm too smart, people think I'm a nerd.” Being intelligent is not a negative quality, but because the “ideal” balance is not found, being intelligent becomes an obstacle to doing the right thing.
