Conflict management is a strategic approach to understanding the complexity of conflict within any environment. Sources of conflict can come from many avenues and include things like poor resources for personal beliefs and work styles and lack of communication. Conflict is said to be inevitable and subject to time and change. However, many organizations, including the federal department, have created functional methods through the use of historical theory to become more aware of the contribution and resolutions in conflict management. The criminal justice system in the United States has been subjected to numerous conflicts that hinder the progress of adaptability. What has been discovered over decades of research is that human conflict is woven into the very fabric of our society, making it a formidable adversary. The United States Department of Justice and all lower law enforcement agencies that fall under this hierarchy are not exempt from conflict. Conflict management derives from historical events that have changed the current perception of conflict management and proposes a resolution method for many areas of the justice system. The conflict model is a great example of the simplest forms of theoretical approach to conflict management. Further examples include that of the perception of consensus, the pluralist perspective, the conflict perspective and restorative justice theories. While each offers a more comprehensive approach to a particular area of the justice system, not all are equally beneficial across all areas. It is inevitable that the association of conflict arises from social change and perception and approaches are manipulated accordingly as situations evolve...... middle of paper... style which is a common practice both in private than in the working class public. While many conflicts arise from different ideologies, cultural understandings, and personal perceptions, conflict is inevitable and subject to the evolution of human beings without consideration of occupation and/or position within any organization, including the justice system.
