When I think about sales I usually don't think of anything good. If I relate sales to good things, the first thing I think of are the nice ladies who give me Keurig coffee samples while I shop, but that's my only good thought. My second thought is usually that I have too many telemarketers calling me. The last thought I always have is that I'm such a terrible salesperson that I can understand why these people are so annoying. The most positive experiences I have with sales associates are usually in stores where they offer free samples. I remember going to Macy's once and there was a nice lady making Keurig samples. People kept asking her where things were, but she was a promoter and didn't know. She was trying her best to help me and I had initially approached her to ask where to find something. She was extremely kind and told me she didn't know where the items I needed were, but offered me a cup of coffee before I went looking for more. He told me all about the car before I finished my coffee and I bought one. I enjoyed the chat with her, and even though I already had the idea of buying that car in mind, she helped me decide. My most frustrating experiences with salespeople are usually those involving the phone. Usually when I'm in the shop people don't bother me more than once, if I say I need help they help me, otherwise they move on. There is one telemarketer in particular who calls me every single day. At first I answered not knowing that it was telemarketing and I politely asked to be put on the do not call list. After the first 2-3 times I got angry and one day I told him again to put me on the do not call list or give me your manager to talk to. The man said politely… middle of paper… those people are great people. Whether they sell a product or an idea, they have succeeded in something that I feel I could never have done. Those who are too persistent and follow up on clearly uninterested prospects are a huge annoyance, but those like the lady with the coffee samples are great people. But even though they are surprising, I know I'm not that kind of person. I may never become one of those people and I'm completely satisfied with that. Works Cited Orton, A. (2012, December 21).
