Alishah KhakiLove“Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible: it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment and bring you more joy than any material good could. --Barbara de AngelisLove is a very tangible thing. It can be easily manipulated and has no boundaries. It works alongside many different feelings such as respect and passion and comes in many different forms. Some say it is the only thing a person needs to survive; others call it a drug so toxic that nothing can stop the addiction. True love, however, is something very rare and, once found, cannot be stopped. Love is magic, love is truth, but above all, love is happiness. In Excalibur there were many different types of love. First there was the love of family; Arthur truly loved his father Ector and his brother Kay, and they reciprocated that love and respect. "At first [I did it] because I feared Merlin, but then because I loved you." Love for family is the strongest. You may love other people or things, but they may not be by your side forever. Family will always be there for you. They are the first people you meet and see in this world, and that makes them even more special. You would do anything for them, and they for you. You may not love everything about them, but they are the ones you respect the most. Another form of love is romantic love. This love has many faces and two faces. To truly experience this love, both parties must work. An example is the love between Arthur and Guinevere. Sometimes they both loved each other, but sometimes only one loved the other. Arthur, for example, “must be king first” before husband and Guinevere loved Arthur “as kinsman…… middle of paper…… chemistry; it seemed like they had just met and. I don't think the actors had enough time to get to know their characters because they didn't seem to embody them well. Furthermore, the choice of music was poor. They played the same song over and over again and, to top it off, they also played it in the wrong places. For a film aimed at teenage audiences, there were definitely a lot of dirty and gory scenes. I've seen many bloody films, but this one left a mark on me. Also, I'm not sure what their voices were like, because I'm pretty sure English people don't have accents like that. And what did Merlin have to do with it? When I saw it for the first time I was confused. I guess it was because I was expecting someone like Gandalf, but it was still weird. So to sum up, this movie was so bad it was almost comical, and I would definitely not watch it again, nor recommend it to anyone..
