Obama PresidencyBarack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961. He attended Harvard Law School. After graduation, he continued his legal practice as a civil rights lawyer and professor of constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996. He served there for three terms (1996-2004). Subsequently, he started his campaign in 2007 for the 2008 presidential election. He won the presidential election against John McCain, his Republican opponent and began serving in office on January 20, 2009. He became the 44th president of the United States of America. America. He is best known for being the first African American to serve in the White House. During his tenure, he implemented several domestic policies. It is worth mentioning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as Obama Care. This is a health care reform that purposely gives more Americans access to affordable, quality health insurance and reduces the growth of health care spending in the United States. It meant lowering the number of uninsured and helping boost the economy. One reason this law doesn't work is that "Americans are selfish" - Vu, 32. By this he meant that many Americans think they are paying (high) taxes on those who do not care about their health. Those who are not responsible for their own health will end up depending on this act of government; they will benefit from it. Those who are responsible for their own health think that it is not their job to take care of those who don't even take care of themselves. Despite all the motivational videos, advertisements, posters, speeches, people still walk around with bad habits like smoking, drinking... middle of paper... Istanbul. His great effort in passing healthcare reform should be honored, even if he is struggling; his action on the recapitalization of the bank in the midst of the financial crisis. The list goes on. We can't deny that it's difficult to run a class president in high school. We are talking about a nation, one of the key nations in the world perspective. It is full of stress and pressure. It is not easy for Obama or any president before him to govern this country. They've all done the best they can with this thing they're dealing with. Some efforts were not well reflected, but at least they kept us moving forward. Obama's leadership is doing a great job for Americans. We should greatly appreciate his availability and commitment towards our countries. As he continues his final term, we should pray that he will have an open mind, to have a brighter vision in all things.
