Lorna Dee Cervantes said that: “children run to me laughing, turning me around blind and foolish. They call me with words of another language." (lines 2-4) I can feel his loneliness through his poetry. Because she doesn't feel American or Mexican, even if she doesn't know who she is. The Mexican natives call her a prostitute because she has been receiving the influence of America for a long time. Cervantes thinks it is not his fault, but his ancestors' fault because he cannot control it. That's why I think immigrants should keep their “old language” alive. If we learn English and don't know our own language, we won't be able to communicate with our cousin. Even when we return to our home country, we cannot communicate with other people. I don't want to feel like a stranger in our house.
