1. How would parental influences affect cognitive, social, motivational, and moral development? What role does culture play in this? How will educators work with parents and what educational applications could be developed from this evidence? As children grow and develop, parental influence promotes their knowledge, strengthens their social skills, and motivates them to explore school topics and expand their ability to think conceptually. . Parents who are actively involved in their children's daily lives demonstrate the educational importance of their children, helping them become prosperous members of society. Positive parental influences promote healthy brain functioning in children, motivating them to set long-term goals (e.g., college and career) and facilitating moral reasoning throughout their lives. Furthermore, the cultural environment in which a child is raised influences his growth and promotes his intellectual, social, moral and motivational well-being, building his overall outlook on life. Finally, parents can work with educators to build academic goals that are best suited for their children. According to Chapter 2, parents can play a crucial role in supporting their children's cognitive progress. To motivate students to achieve at their highest level, it is essential that parents nourish their children with adequate nutrition and help them with schoolwork (e.g., projects, reports, and homework) (p. 24, chapter 2 ). As a result, parents positively influence their children's cognitive development as they can help them increase their academic achievement (p. 24). Additionally, educational applications include parent and teacher support…half of the paper…helping your child maximize his or her ability to learn, grow, and excel in school. According to chapter 2, parents are encouraged to arrange a discussion with the teacher regarding any social or learning difficulties the child may be experiencing at school (p. 24, chapter 2). Additionally, parent-teacher collaboration makes the parent aware of their child's academic strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to seek additional help outside of the classroom to improve their child's cognitive development in areas where they need reinforcement. For example, as a teacher's assistant, the third grade teachers I work with often recommend me to parents as a tutor for their children, an educational application that should be implemented in all school environments. Therefore, parents' academic involvement in children's lives is key to improving students' overall growth and development.
