The stillness of it all made it seem like an image, as if the earth were frozen in time. We were both isolated and observing the surroundings. A small fox emerged from a mound in the mature grass and began running ahead of us, occasionally pouncing on what appeared to be a mouse, each time returning with an empty mouth and continuing on its way. The crows were perched high in the tree branches and cawing at others around them, it sounded like a warning call, like something you would hear in a horror movie. Suddenly everything seemed to stop, I heard my sister gasp and she shook her legs to the side. I started to speak, but was interrupted by her telling me to move. Raising his gun, he approached a deer running down the hill. We could hear every hoof hitting the ground and knew he couldn't get a good shot while running. Panicked, I started whistling and, to our disbelief, it stopped. Once again time stood still. I didn't take my eyes off the deer which was now about 100 meters away from us.
