Since the beginning of time the world has always chosen to use a variety of weapons to use in wars. This means that the Vietnam War was no different and had its fair share of weapons used. Throughout the war, the United States had over half a million soldiers, nurses, and other medical personnel. The people who died in this war understood that what they could die for was honorable and worth it. The United States wanted to ensure that other countries did not fall into communism. As President Eisenhower stated, “You have set up a row of dominoes; you drop the first one and what will happen to the last one is that it will tip over very quickly. (Eisenhower). This was why the United States became involved in the Vietnam War and why it was so crucial to develop such highly advanced weapons. In both North and South Vietnam, each country used its fair share of weapons, each differing in quality, size and effectiveness. As for the weapons used, both the United States and North Vietnam had a unique selection of them. This was fast and was able to transport an entire unit to its destination faster than having to walk there. This jet was also capable of carrying rockets and machine guns. Another helicopter used was the Bell AH-IG Huey Cobra. This helicopter was used for tactical assaults. The Vietnamese also had a skyraider practically identical to that of the Americans. They also had the A-37 Dragonfly, another bomber used by the Vietnamese. Airships were not only used to attack the enemy, but also to transport personnel.
