Ancient Greek architecture is not only about their use in geometry and proportions, it is also their great desire and cunning to learn from nature, the aspiration to understand nature by subsequently illustrating it through architecture. In Greek philosophy, they see man as the highest beings in the universe, this gave the Greeks the idea of using the size of the human body as a mathematical unit, this philosophical concept is called Humanism. It was a significant factor that contributed to ancient Greek architecture. Their features in architecture have always been "out of the box" during primitive times, details such as orders and sculptures had symbolic meanings. Examples of good aesthetic use and representative pieces of architecture can be found in the Acropolis. Their interest in perfection was engraved in the world of architecture, the excellence of their intelligence allowed them to create the most monumental pieces, their works so grand that the ancients even believe they were built by the gods. Architecture has been a part of their culture, the main intention is to enable its people to possess patriotism, religion and confidence. As well as being impressed and proud to be part of their civilization. Consequently the Greeks had a reason to build. The acropolis (Greek for city) of Athens is a steep hill containing numerous ruins of temples, enclosures and other buildings. The Acropolis of Athens has remained a successful monument for the people of Athens. Temples were used to worship the Greek gods. It rises above the city of Athens on a steep hill. However it took almost two centuries of experiments to get it right due to its practically outrageous planning in which each building is placed...... middle of paper ......all other buildings that house the Acropolis , each had a purpose to hold Athens high, to enable the cultural maturity of Athens expressed through its architecture. As for what was focused on the Acropolis, one thing is obvious, is that Athenians are highly creative and artistic. The Greeks made a revolutionary contribution to the history of architecture, ancient Greek architects sought precision, perspective and proportion. Newly invented mathematical formulas have made the impossible possible, providing the basis for the construction of splendid architectural pieces with optical and spatial refinements, orders and meticulously crafted sculptures. The bold approach has pushed the conceptual boundary in architecture. Ultimately, the offshoot of these bold attempts has influenced architecture to this day, their excellence will never be forgotten.
